Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Flickwand LLC, a United States limited liability company (“Flickwand,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). SonoRev is operated by Flickwand LLC.
These Terms govern your access to and use of SonoRev, including the website at sonorev.com, the ride app at /app/, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, checking the acceptance box, signing in, starting a paid subscription, or otherwise using the Service after notice of these Terms, you agree to them.
If you do not agree, do not use SonoRev.
1. Who we are
Flickwand LLC operates SonoRev, a consumer web application that generates GPS-reactive engine-style audio for electric scooters and similar vehicles, typically played through a phone or Bluetooth speaker. Contact: [email protected].
2. The Service — and what it is not
SonoRev is an entertainment / novelty audio experience. It is not:
- a vehicle, vehicle component, or type-approved Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS);
- a safety device, driver-assistance system, navigation system, or collision-avoidance product;
- a substitute for mirrors, horns, lighting, or any equipment required by law;
- a guarantee that pedestrians or other road users will hear you.
You remain solely responsible for operating your vehicle safely and in compliance with all applicable laws.
3. Safety, distraction, and assumption of risk
Using a phone, app, GPS, Bluetooth audio, or speaker while riding can distract you, impair awareness of traffic, or reduce your ability to hear important sounds (sirens, horns, engines, voices). High volume can also create noise that annoys others or violates local rules.
By using the Service you acknowledge and agree that:
- You will set up SonoRev before you ride (profile, volume, Bluetooth, permissions). Do not configure the app while moving.
- You will keep your eyes and primary attention on the road and traffic — not on the screen.
- You will obey all traffic, headset/earbud, handheld-device, and noise laws where you ride. Many places restrict phone use while driving or riding.
- You will keep volume at a level that does not prevent you from hearing your surroundings or create unlawful noise.
- GPS speed and location can be inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or jump. Do not rely on SonoRev for speed, navigation, or any safety-critical decision.
- Bluetooth connections can drop; audio can lag, distort, or fail. Treat failures as normal software behavior, not as a reason to look away from traffic.
- Riding electric vehicles involves inherent risks of injury or death. You voluntarily assume the risks arising from your decision to use an entertainment audio app while riding.
If you cannot use the Service safely under these conditions, do not use it while operating a vehicle.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the higher age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s consent and supervision, and only where lawful.
Accounts are created via email magic link (one-time sign-in). You are responsible for keeping access to that email secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, reverse-engineer it in a harmful way, or violate these Terms.
5. Preview, subscription, and billing
Unauthenticated or unpaid users may receive a limited free preview of engine-on time (currently about three minutes, subject to change). Preview budgets may be enforced using device identifiers and network signals so that clearing browser data does not automatically restore free time.
Paid access is a recurring subscription billed through Stripe (currently USD $22 per month, unless a different price is shown at checkout). By subscribing you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime via the in-app “Manage subscription” / Stripe Customer Portal. Access continues through the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated at checkout.
- Taxes may apply based on your location and Stripe’s tax settings.
- Failed payments may result in loss of access after Stripe’s retry window.
- Prices and preview length may change; we will show the current price at checkout and may notify subscribers of material changes as required by law.
6. EU / EEA / UK consumer rights (digital services)
If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK buying a digital service at a distance:
- You normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the distance contract.
- When you start using the digital service (including after checkout / unlocking paid access) during that period, you may be asked to consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right once performance begins, to the extent permitted by the Consumer Rights Directive and national law.
- Mandatory rights on conformity of digital content/services (including remedies for lack of conformity) are not waived by these Terms.
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under your local consumer law.

7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use SonoRev in a way that endangers yourself or others;
- use the Service to violate traffic, noise, or privacy laws;
- attempt to bypass paywalls, preview limits, or security controls;
- scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service;
- misrepresent your identity to Stripe or to us;
- copy or redistribute the Service’s code, audio assets, or branding except as allowed by open licenses noted in the project (for example CC0 sample credits) or by law.
8. Intellectual property
SonoRev’s software, design, trademarks, and original audio/DSP content are owned by Flickwand LLC or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial riding/entertainment use while your access is valid. Some third-party samples may be offered under separate licenses (see project credits).
9. Privacy
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. By accepting these Terms you also acknowledge that policy. Contract performance (account, subscription, preview anti-abuse) and legitimate interests (security, service improvement) are enough for typical processing; marketing, if any, requires a separate lawful basis.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that GPS tracking, audio, Bluetooth playback, battery readouts, or uptime will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free. We do not warrant that the Service is fit for any safety, regulatory, or professional purpose.
Where consumer law requires certain warranties or conformity remedies, those rights remain.
11. Limitation of liability
You use SonoRev at your own risk while riding.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Flickwand LLC and its officers, members, and contractors are not liable for traffic accidents, citations, hearing damage, property damage, or personal injury arising from distraction, volume, GPS error, Bluetooth failure, or your decision to use an entertainment app while operating a vehicle.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, even if advised of the possibility.
- Our total liability for claims arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD $50.
Non-excludable rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including, where such exclusions are void, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights in the EU/EEA/UK. Some claim types against app providers for road injuries remain unsettled in various jurisdictions; these Terms allocate risk clearly but do not purport to override non-waivable public policy.
12. Indemnity
To the extent enforceable where you live, you will indemnify and hold harmless Flickwand LLC and its officers, members, and contractors from claims, damages, fines, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your operation of a vehicle, or your violation of these Terms or the law — except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct or as prohibited by consumer law.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version identifier and effective date above will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated in the app, by email, or by requiring renewed acceptance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where law requires a different process.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are an agreement with Flickwand LLC (USA). Except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise, they are governed by the laws of the United States of America.
EU/EEA/UK consumers: You keep the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your residence or as otherwise allowed by applicable consumer jurisdiction rules. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform where available: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Other users (including US users): Subject to non-waivable local rights, disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of the United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Nothing here waives non-waivable protections under the law of your state or country of residence.
15. Miscellaneous
If a provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service between you and Flickwand LLC. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign the agreement without our consent; we may assign it in connection with a sale or reorganization of the Service.
